Tang Soo Do Philosophy
Tang Soo Do is a
traditional Korean Martial Art of open hand and foot
self defense. Tang Soo Do was developed from traditional
Korean
martial arts dating back over two thousand years. Tang Soo Do is taught
as an art rather than as a sport. Tang Soo Do training
allows the body to
gain the ultimate use of its faculties through intensive
physical and
mental training. Its methods of instruction are designed
to help an
individual develop character, integrity,
self-confidence, concentration
and a respect for others.
The Art is centered around 8 Key Concepts & 10 Articles
of Faith that
define the key points in Tang Soo Do.

Yong Gi - Courage
Chung Shin Tong Il - Concentration
In Neh - Endurance
Chung Jik - Honesty
Kyum Son - Humility
Him Cho Chung - Control of Power
Shin Chook - Tension & Relaxation
Wan Gup - Speed Control
10 Articles of Faith:
1. Be loyal to your
country.
2. Be loving between husband and wife.
3. Be obedient to your parents.
4. Be cooperative between brothers.
5. Be respectful to your elders.
6. Be faithful between teacher and student.
7. Be faithful between friends.
8. Know the difference between good and evil.
9. Never retreat in battle.
10. Always finish what you start.
With these values, the student develops a strong
and solid inner and
outer core. The values that Tang Soo Do teaches can be
used and found
in everyday life. Students are able to deal with
conflicts easier with a
much wiser heart and mind. Tang Soo Do molds children,
teenagers, as
well as adults into smarter more rounded people. The

through Tang Soo Do will last forever throughout the
student's life as
